Monday Morning Speaker: Halelly Azulay

Skill Development on a Shoestring:  How to Grow Your Talent Outside the Classroom!

with Author HALELLY AZULAY

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:

With tight budgets and the need to keep up our skills, we are challenged to find ways to address our development needs. While most people think of classroom and online training as the first place to look, these development methods can be costly and complex. In addition to budgetary restrictions, training may simply not be the best way to address many learning needs. In this highly interactive and dynamic session, we will explore multiple non-training ideas for developing your skills and competencies on a tight budget and outside the classroom.

We will consider the pros and cons of various non-training development methods, consider the requirements and specifications of three unusual development ideas, and begin to create a strategy for implementing new development methods right away to boost your career success

Learning Objectives:

  • ·         Identify and assess various skill development methods that can be applied outside the classroom and on a tight budget.

  • ·         Analyze three specific examples of non-training development methods.

  •      Develop a strategy for incorporating new development methods into your job search.
