Why Whisper When You Can Roar? A Conversation about Passion and Purpose

Speaker Website:  http://www.bossanovaconsulting.com/

What accomplishments are you most proud of? What gifts have you yet to bring to the world? How are you meant to make a difference in this lifetime? These are a few of the questions we will consider, as we set the Blackberrys and To Do lists aside and take a moment to reflect, celebrate, and imagine what’s possible.

Why Whisper When You Can Roar is an engaging, inspiring, and thought-provoking look into the many ways you can be called to express passion and purpose in your own life -- both within and outside the context of your career. It is designed to take advantage of the perfect opportunity that those in career transition have to reflect and renew.

Andrea Howe has been in and around the consulting industry for nearly 20 years. Her career began at American Management Systems (AMS), a $1b consulting firm, where she worked for nearly a decade before she heard the entrepreneurial knock at the door and launched her own business, BossaNova Consulting Group. Today, Andrea and other BossaNova associates travel the world leading learning programs for top global firms in consulting, accounting, and other professional services.     In February of 2008, in a moment of inspiration that sprang up amidst client demands, Andrea conceived of a project called Hear Us Roar!—100 women sharing 100 stories to raise $100,000 for charity. The idea came out of a recognition that many women (including Andrea) tend to diminish and downplay their own accomplishments, to the detriment of those around them. The invitation to women around the world was simple: “Tell us about a time in your life that you realized you were powerful.” Andrea took a figure-it-out-as-you-go approach and now this consultant/author/publisher is learning how to promote the Roar project’s first product, “Hear Us Roar! 28 Stories of Everyday Women Leading Extraordinary Lives.” In this book, 28 women share their stories and inspire others to roar while raising money for charity. All profits from the sale of this book are contributed to the authors’ charities of choice.
