BIO
Tom Calcagni has more than 20 years of experience as a broadcaster, communications executive and media coach.
He recently served as the most senior public relations executive at the national office of the American Automobile Association (AAA). Calcagni was responsible at the nations largest association for strategic and crisis communications involving national news media. He has been interviewed many times, including interviews with Diane Sawyer and Catie Couric and has even testified before Congress.
He began his career as a television reporter and his reporting often appeared on CNN in the early days of the network. He was also a TV anchorman and news director. Calcagni also served as communications director to two United States Senators and has held senior executive communications positions at public and private corporations, as well as at public relations firms in Washington, DC and in Seattle.
In addition to being the author of the new book Tough Questions - Good Answers: Taking Control of Any Interview, he is currently the chief communications strategist for the Special Libraries Association where he is responsible for developing, implementing and directing SLA's messaging and branding strategies.
Tom Calcagni graduated with a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.S.J from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism.
