Dr. Katherine Green began Green Consulting Group LLC in 1999, to offer organizational consulting services focusing on leadership, change and the aging workforce. GCG collaborates with business, government and associations to “develop competent leaders with vision and goodwill,” garnering a rating of 97 out of 100 from her clients during an independent 1994 review. Since 1988, Katherine has researched, written and spoken on the organizational challenges posed by an aging workforce. In the early 1990’s she produced a series of “how to” booklets for the U.N.’s International Labour Office on best practices for employing older workers, and wrote two white papers on work and working conditions for older adults. She has spoken at local, national and international professional and civic conferences about the aging workforce, and participated in two national projects. One project promoted workforce planning strategies for small and mid-sized businesses, the other educated retailers on strategies to recruit and retain workers aged 50+ using flexible workplace practices.
More recently, Katherine consulted on a pilot knowledge management initiative with NASA to retain institutional knowledge of the retiring engineering workforce. Her current work involves creating work and working conditions for lifetime employment through organizational adaptations, revised HR policies and practices and leadership development for an age-neutral workplace.
