ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Karen Mulhauser,

President of Mulhauser and Associates, has been providing consulting services to nonprofit organizations, grant makers and candidates since 1988. She brings many years of leadership experience as CEO and board member of nonprofit groups, with particular expertise in management, strategic and program planning, public affairs, meeting planning, fundraising and coalition building.

 

Karen is deeply committed to voluntary service. She has served on over 30 boards of directors. Current board involvement: American Forum; City at Peace; and President Elect of UNA NCA. She chairs the Advisory Council of Women's Information Network.

 

Mulhauser and Associates is a small, progressive, consulting firm. Areas of expertise include strategic planning, management assistance, board/staff development, program design/evaluation, and fundraising. Karen founded America's Impact to educate about importance of electing candidates with principled global positions.

Clients have included Antioch College, National Council of Women's Organizations, Academy for Educational Development, League of Women Voters, Washington Area Women's Foundation, InterAction, ASHOKA, CARE USA, National Education Association, National Public Radio, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Ploughshares Fund, and YWCA of the USA.

She served on over 30 Boards. Women’s Information Network presents the Karen Mulhauser Award yearly to the woman who has done the most to support younger women. Prior to consulting, Karen Mulhauser served as Executive Director of the Center for Education on Nuclear War, Citizens Against Nuclear War and NARAL.

  1. Leave the Dupont Circle Metro Station by the 19th Street SOUTH exit.
  2. At the top of the escalator (street level), turn 180 degrees, and walk a short distance towards Dupont Circle.
  3. Turn right and walk counter-clockwise around the outside of the Circle, past Connecticut and Massachusetts Avenues.
  4. At P Street, turn right . Proceed on P Street past 18th Street.
  5. 40Plus is near the end of the block on the right side, at 1718 P Street, in the Webster House apartment building.
